About
Set across three rather extraordinary levels in Hawthorn East, this is a home that doesn’t do much by halves. Five bedrooms, multiple living spaces, two kitchens, a private cinema, swimming pool, internal lift, office and garaging for three cars. Space, thankfully, is not something you’ll be short of…. read more

The space
The main level is very much the heart of the house,, set under glittering chandeliers with both formal and informal living and dining spaces opening towards the outdoor area and pool.

And then there is the kitchen…well……the main kitchen is enormous, centered around a substantial marble island and equipped with Gaggenau appliances, integrated refrigeration, excellent storage and a hidden walk in pantry. There is also a complete second kitchen with additional cooking facilities, oven, dishwasher and filtered water. It may sound a little excessive, but for a larger household, extended family, or anyone incapable of tidying as they prepare and cook, it’s rather brilliant. Simply shut the door and let your future self deal with it tomorrow.

A bedroom suite with its own bathroom is also located on this level.

Upstairs
The primary suite is, unsurprisingly, rather substantial. There are two dressing rooms and a large ensuite with freestanding bath, separate shower and dual vanity.

A further two additional bedrooms on this level each have their own walk in robe and ensuite, which is one of the things we particularly like about the home for an extended stay. Everyone gets their own space, their own bathroom and, importantly, somewhere to shut the door.

Downstairs
Things become a little more interesting down here. There is a private 16 seat cinema with the comfiest chairs to settle into ready to watch the latest TV show, a custom cellar, additional bedroom suite and dedicated office.

The office provides a proper space to work away from the main household, while the
A private internal lift connects all three levels, making getting from one end of the house to the other considerably less ambitious.

Outdoors
The main living spaces open directly onto the north facing, heated, swimming pool.

Location
Hawthorn East is one of those particularly easy pockets of Melbourne in which to actually live, which matters when you’re staying for two months or more.

The home sits within easy reach of Camberwell Junction, Auburn Village, Burke Road and Glenferrie Road, giving you an excellent choice of supermarkets, fresh food, cafés, restaurants and all the day to day necessities without needing to venture particularly far.

For families, the location also puts many of Melbourne’s leading schools within easy reach, while Hawthorn, Kew, Camberwell and Toorak are all readily accessible. The CBD is close enough when required, but happily far enough away that life here feels decidedly more residential.

Where we love to get our morning coffee: Hello Sailor
Where we love to eat cake/dessert: La Croissanterie & Co
Where we love to eat: Meat Me Now
Where we love to sip wine: Auburn Hotel
Where we love to walk: Studley Park
Where we love to visit: Rivoli Cinemas, although admittedly, with your own 16 seat cinema downstairs, this one may be a harder sell.

Available for a minimum stay of 60 nights, the home is best suited to those looking for somewhere to properly live for a period of time, rather than simply stay. It would work particularly well for a larger or multigenerational family, those renovating their own home, relocating to Melbourne, or anyone requiring a substantial furnished residence while between homes.
