The Kay & Burton Foundation was established in 2021 to formalise the philanthropic endeavours of our team, clients, and partners. Our focus is to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need and champion health and wellness initiatives throughout our community.
We are proud to announce a new partnership with Vision Australia—the leading national provider of blindness and low-vision services in Australia.
Dedicated to ensuring that people who are blind or have low vision can live the life they choose, Vision Australia offers a range of services, including mobility training, technology solutions, and community support. Their mission is to support and empower people of all ages, helping them to live independently and participate fully in every aspect of life.
As a supporting partner, the Kay & Burton Foundation will sponsor two of Vision Australia’s most beloved events—the Santa Fun Run and Carols by Candlelight—with all funds raised going towards the Life Ready Program.
Vision Australia’s Life Ready Program gives children who are blind or have low vision a ‘toolkit to tackle life’ so they are better equipped with the confidence, skills and desires they need to form strong foundations for life, engage in true meaningful participation and approach opportunities for lifelong employment.
The program creates a safe, supportive environment to connect children and young people (aged 0-25), as well as their families with their peers so they can grow and learn together. Understanding that there is help and support out there with people who are living this journey too can in itself be a great support. All while a team of experts helps all involved to develop their skills across the nine critical life skills areas.
Held in Melbourne on November 23 and Sydney on November 30, this fun-filled event is a great way to get active while supporting Vision Australia’s vital work in the community. Dash into the holiday season and join hundreds of Santas for a festive run, walk, jog or roll. It’s a family friendly event for all ages and helps start the festive season off in the lead up to Carols by Candlelight.
On 24 December each year, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl lights up as families and friends gather to celebrate the festive season while raising funds for Vision Australia’s children’s services. From humble beginnings in 1938 with a 30-strong choir, two solo performers and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Band performing at midnight, Carols by Candlelight has grown into an institution of Christmas magic.
We are proud to be joining Vision Australia in their mission to support people who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose.
Together, let’s continue to make a difference.
