A year of giving: Reflecting on another powerful year of philanthropy and partnership

As the financial year closed, the Kay & Burton Foundation reflected on another extraordinary chapter of giving—marked by enduring partnerships, exceptional community outcomes, and a growing network of support.

Established in 2021, the Foundation was created to formalise the philanthropic endeavours of Kay & Burton’s team, clients, and partners. Four years on, its mission remains clear: to make a meaningful, long-term impact in the lives of those in need and champion health and wellness initiatives throughout our community through strategic partnerships and direct giving.

In the 2024–25 financial year, the Foundation helped raise more than $4.5 million across its various initiatives and partnerships. Of that total, over $70,000 was donated directly through a portion of every property sale—a unique model that ensures every transaction contributes to lasting community impact.

“We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved this year—not just through dollars raised, but through the real, tangible outcomes we’ve seen in the community,” said Peter Kudelka, Chair of the Kay & Burton Foundation. “It’s a collective effort, and we’re grateful to every client, team member and partner who’s contributed along the way. It’s not just about fundraising events—it’s about embedding philanthropy into our everyday business.”

Key partnerships

The year marked the beginning of our partnership with Vision Australia, a national leader in support services for people who are blind or have low vision. As major event sponsor of the Santa Fun Run and Carols by Candlelight, the Kay & Burton Foundation proudly supported Vision Australia’s Life Ready Program, which empowers individuals to live independently and participate fully in life. From the festive energy of the Santa Fun Run to the community magic of Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the events helped raise critical funds while connecting thousands of Australians in support of a shared cause.

In collaboration with NAB Private Wealth, the Foundation supported RULE Prostate Cancer through three major events: the E.J. Whitten Celebrity Golf Day, Love Letter to Football, and the Grand Final Legends Lunch. Each event raised critical funds and helped amplify the message around men’s health and early detection of prostate cancer.

Our continued support of the Cabrini Foundation helps fund essential healthcare services and medical research. Through the Let’s Beat Bowel Cancer Golf Classic, more than $6.2 million has been raised since its inception—contributing to life-saving advancements in diagnosis and care.

As presenting partner of the Gala Committee Dinner, the Foundation helped raise a record $111,000 for Koala Kids—an organisation dedicated to bringing small but significant moments of joy to young people undergoing cancer treatment.

Looking ahead, the Kay & Burton Foundation remains committed to expanding its impact by supporting organisations doing extraordinary work.

“When you bring together purpose, partnership, and generosity—you can create something truly lasting,” Mr Kudelka said.
